Who are we:
Census Commodity Data Ltd was formed in August 2017 by commodity market journalist and business professionals who believe there are opportunities to provide insightful news and robust pricing information in a range of commodity markets.
After launching into two areas in late 2017, we are now looking to further develop our products and expand into other commodities.
Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic, key member of our young organisation who is going to be instrumental in taking us to the next level of development.
You will be committed to helping us rapidly build our brand awareness by establishing relationships with major global companies and ensuring they have tried our service. Thereafter, you will convert them into paying clients, manage the account, feed their requests back and handle the renewal.
For the right candidate, there will be additional opportunities to build and manage a team of both inside and field sales people.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop client relationships: identify, initiate contact and build our brand awareness among key users;
- Close sales at the appropriate levels;
- Secure contract renewal and grow revenues for each client;
- Understand company organisation, strategy and priorities through extensive mapping and strategic planning, grow network of users, grow usage, successfully convey benefits of our service and methodology, establish us as must-have and develop partnership style relationship;
- Provide expert research support to all clients, through detailed understanding of our products and markets;
- Collaborate with industry teams;
- Develop product offering to meet the changing needs of our client base; and
- Leverage research and industry expertise into the client base.
Performance Measures:
- Incremental revenue/upsell – against monthly and annual targets;
- Completeness of client maps/org charts, knowledge of clients’ businesses;
- Upsell strategy for all clients and clear plan to execute said strategies;
- Number of new users registered on the service;
- Number of meetings and demonstrations; and
- Number of live upsell opportunities in pipeline, proposals submitted.
Skills/Proficiencies required
You must be passionate, energetic, intelligent and likeable!
In addition, you will
- Be a highly self-motivated professional with a proven track record of managing client relationships and delivering incremental revenue in the B2B information space, ideally in commodities;
- Possess excellent networking, communication and presentation skills that allow you to uncover new opportunities and deepen client relationships;
- Have the tenacity, drive, commercial awareness and persuasiveness to close deals;
- Be target oriented;
- Be able to manage workload across all clients, balancing proactive commercial activities with reactive client support;
- Be able to quickly develop knowledge of market trends and dynamics; and
- Be fluent in English and at least one other language, preferably Spanish, French, Dutch or German.
